Use your specialist nursing expertise to provide compassionate care when patients and families need it most.
\nAt Princess Alice Hospice, we support people through life, death and grief across the London Boroughs of Kingston, Richmond and large parts of Surrey. We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Specialist Nurse Night Response to join our Hospice at Home Night Response Team.
\nWhat we offer:
\n27 days annual leave plus recognised public holidays, rising with service, pro rata for part-time.
\nAccess to Group Personal Pension Plan, plus Auto-enrolment pension with NEST and potential continuation of NHS Pension Scheme contributions where eligible.
\nEnhanced pay for night working, paid monthly in arrears.
\nEmployee Assistance Programme, Blue Light Card access and wellbeing support.
\nEducational and professional development opportunities, supported by our on-site Education Team.
\nProtected clinical supervision, monthly Schwartz Rounds and a supportive team environment.
\nAs our Specialist Nurse Night Response, you will play a vital role in delivering urgent, specialist nursing care overnight for patients in their own homes, care homes and residential settings. Working as part of a small team, usually one Registered Nurse and one Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will provide telephone advice, reassurance and clinical guidance, as well as visiting patients when required.
\nThis is an autonomous and rewarding role where your clinical judgement, assessment skills and palliative care experience will help patients remain in the comfort of their own home and reduce unnecessary hospital admissions. The Specialist Nurse Night Response role follows a night pattern of 9pm to 8am, with 14 night shifts per month; part-time hours may be considered, with a minimum of 10 nights per month.
\nWhat you will bring as a Specialist Nurse / Practitioner:
\nNMC registration and experience of caring for people who are terminally ill.
\nStrong community-based nursing knowledge and confidence working independently.
\nExcellent communication, telephone triage, assessment and decision-making skills.
\nA compassionate, calm and flexible approach in emotionally demanding situations.
\nThe ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, carers and multi-disciplinary colleagues.
\nA full driving licence, as you will travel to patients homes.
\nIf you are ready to make a meaningful difference as a Specialist Nurse Night Response, we would love to hear from you. Please click on the link to submit your application today!
