About the Role

\n

A well-regarded health advisory practice is looking to appoint a Director to lead its programme delivery and advisory capability across the health sector.

\n

This is a senior, client-facing position for someone who combines deep programme delivery expertise with change leadership, and who is ready to help shape the direction of a growing practice. The team works with a range of NHS and wider public sector clients on complex, high-stakes transformation programmes, and is at an active point of growth with a strong pipeline of work.

\n

The right person will be as comfortable advising at board level as they are setting standards for delivery teams. They will bring existing client relationships, a sharp understanding of how change lands in health organisations, and the credibility to win and lead significant pieces of work.

\n

Responsibilities:

\n
    \n
  • Lead the delivery of complex, multi-workstream programmes across health and care organisations, taking accountability for outcomes, governance and benefits realisation
  • \n
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders (clinical, operational and executive) navigating ambiguity and building lasting relationships
  • \n
  • Help establish and embed consistent approaches to programme delivery and change management across the team, drawing on best practice and recognised methodologies
  • \n
  • Drive business development - identifying opportunities, leading bids and proposals, and bringing existing client relationships into the practice
  • \n
  • Contribute to thought leadership, market positioning and the broader growth of the advisory offering
  • \n
  • Mentor and develop more junior members of the team, building capability and maintaining high standards across delivery
  • \n
\n

\n

Skills & Experience:

\n
    \n
  • Substantial experience delivering major programmes and change initiatives within health, NHS or wider public sector environments
  • \n
  • Background in a management consultancy or advisory organisation (or within an independent consultancy environment)
  • \n
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior client relationships, with a track record of winning work or developing new opportunities within health or public sector environments
  • \n
  • Experience advising at executive or board level, with the credibility to influence clinical, operational and finance stakeholders simultaneously
  • \n
  • Practitioner-level certifications in programme and/or change management (MSP, PRINCE2, APM PMQ/PPQ, Prosci, Change Management Practitioner or equivalent)
  • \n
  • Credible, energetic and commercially astute - able to operate with autonomy and make an impact quickly in a growing team
  • \n
