Design & Technology Teacher – Permanent Role (September Start)

Northampton | Full-Time | MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

Reed Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary school in Northampton to recruit a dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and successful department within a well-respected school.

The Role

You will deliver engaging and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students through a broad and creative Design & Technology curriculum.

The timetable will focus on the following core disciplines:

• Food Technology – nutrition, food preparation, and practical cooking skills
\n
• Textiles – fabric techniques, garment construction, and creative design
\n
• Product Design – design processes, prototyping, and use of materials
\n

The Ideal Candidate

\n
• QTS desirable but not essential
\n
• Proven experience teaching Design & Technology in a secondary setting (essential)
\n
• Strong subject knowledge in at least one of the listed disciplines
\n
• Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities
\n
• Strong classroom management skills
\n

ECTs are welcome to apply, provided they have relevant D&T teaching experience from training placements.
