A highly regarded Kent law firm is looking to appoint a Criminal Defence Lawyer to join its growing team. The role offers exposure to a fascinating mix of criminal and regulatory matters, acting predominantly for privately funded individuals and businesses.

This is an opportunity to work on complex and varied cases, including investigations, prosecutions, appeals and advisory work. The successful candidate will gain experience across a range of niche sectors and will be encouraged to develop specialist expertise alongside an established and supportive team.

The Opportunity

• Manage a broad caseload of criminal defence and regulatory matters

• Advise clients from initial investigation through to conclusion of proceedings

• Work on a mixture of contentious and advisory matters

• Gain exposure to specialist areas of law rarely found in traditional criminal defence practices

• Develop expertise in licensing, regulatory and appeal work

• Build strong client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the department

About You

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive, although experienced fee earners with relevant backgrounds will also be considered

• Experience in criminal defence work is desirable

• An interest in regulatory law would be advantageous

• Strong advocacy, communication and client care skills

• Keen to develop specialist knowledge and build a long-term career within the sector
