Cover Supervisors

Cover Supervisors & Instructors Location: Southampton and surrounding areas Pay: From £100 per day (depending on role and experience)

Are you confident leading a classroom and passionate about working with young people? Do you hold a UK-recognised degree and have experience supporting learning or delivering lessons? If so, we want to hear from you.

Academics is working closely with secondary schools across Southampton to recruit Cover Supervisors and Instructors for this academic year. These roles are ideal for those considering a career in teaching, as well as experienced educators looking for flexible, rewarding work.

You'll be delivering pre-prepared lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and ensuring students stay engaged in their learning in the absence of the usual class teacher. While the work is often general cover, we can also place you in subject-specific roles that suit your background or interests.

To be considered, you will need:

  A UK-recognised degree

  Some experience teaching, tutoring, or working with young people in an educational setting

  Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  The ability to build rapport quickly with students and staff

  A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
