\nPPA\nis seeking to appoint three non-executive members to its Board, with\na closing date for applications of 12 noon on Friday 4th September.\n
\n\n

\n

\nThe\nmanagement, maintenance and strategic development of the Port of\nPeterhead are the responsibility of Peterhead Port Authority (PPA),\nan independent Trust Port Board consisting of ten non-executives and\none executive member.\n
\n\n

\n

\nThe\nappointment of the three non-executives will commence on 1st January\n2027, is for three years initially with the possibility of\nreappointment and is part-time, typically 1–2 days per month. The\nposition is remunerated and travelling expenses may be reimbursed.\n
\n\n

\n

\nCommitment\nand experience can be as valuable as qualifications. Applicants will\nbe required to work with senior and professional staff. An ability to\ngrasp complex issues quickly is important, as is experience of\nachieving results in a business or Board type environment and also: -\n

  • \n\tThe\n\tachievement of successful results in demanding situations, This can\n\tbe in a career or unpaid (voluntary) work.
  • \n\t
  • \n\tAn\n\tability to contribute effectively in group discussions which may\n\tinclude specialist and professional participants.
  • \n\t
  • \n\tMaintaining\n\tand articulating independence of position in group situations and\n\taccepting democratic outcomes.

\nTo\ncomplement the existing range of expertise and maintain the\nappropriate balance of competencies and skills on the Board,\napplicants should preferably have special knowledge, experience or\nability in one or more of the following areas:\n

\nSeafood\nSector
\n\n

\n
    \n\t
  • \n\tWhite\n\tfish / pelagic catching sector, seafood processing, seafood buying,\n\tpost-sale seafood logistics;
    \n\n\t
  • \n
\n

\nEnergy\nSector
\n\n

\n
    \n\t
  • \n\tOffshore\n\twind energy, decommissioning, offshore construction
  • \n
\n

\nPort\nOperations
\n\n

\n
    \n\t
  • Master\n\tmariner / finance / legal / HSEQ / Port operations / Port master\n\tplanning / Infrastructure planning
  • \n
\n

\nThe\nclosing date for applications is 12 noon on Friday, 4th September\n2026. Short listed candidates will be contacted for interviews which\nare scheduled to take place later in September through to October\n2026.
